Getting started with WorkGenius

WorkGenius offers a unique platform for working with clients. From finding jobs, to managing projects, to payment–it’s all taken care of in one place.

WorkGenius helps talented freelancers build lasting relationships with a diverse range of reputable companies, in a multitude of fields. Using our AI-powered technology, we match you with projects that line up with your skills and experience–so you never have to waste time on endless job searches, lengthy applications, or awkward negotiations.

Each of the following stages are designed to make it as easy as possible for you to get started.

1. Onboarding

Your first task is to register with WorkGenius. For that, you’ll need the following information: 

  • First and last name
  • Country of residence
  • Email & password (you’ll need to verify your email)

The next step is getting to know you better, and learning about the skills you bring to the table. That way, our technology can find and recommend suitable projects for you. 

Below is the information we’ll need: 

  • Title & hourly rate 
  • Languages, skills & work experience
  • Home or business address 
  • Links & attachments 

Once you have entered all this information and verified your email address, your account will be ready for us to review ahead of granting you platform approval. 

To facilitate this step, we’ll need to verify the information you provided–help us by being as precise as possible about your professional experience, as well as any social media accounts you have (such as LinkedIn or Xing). You may also want to provide a link to your website (if applicable) and a copy of your professional resume.

Approving your account usually takes place within 48 hours.


2. Account setup

Once your account is approved for the platform, you will be asked to complete your payment information. This is a mandatory step for billing purposes, and must be completed before accepting any job or project or booking. The information will be used for your Hyperwallet account as well as for future invoicing.

The information listed below is mandatory:

Personal data: Please enter your full name and date of birth

Legal information: Please indicate if you are an individual or registered company

VAT Declaration: If you have a tax or VAT ID, make sure to include it in the field provided

Billing Address: Enter the billing address associated with your bank

Please note that any information provided for Hyperwallet activation may need to be verified. 

Hyperwallet is our payment service provider. Successful projects and bookings are usually paid out through your Hyperwallet account within 28 days. You can subsequently transfer the amount to your bank account for just 1€ a month, which we then credit back to you.

The tax-relevant receipt of any payment you receive is automatically generated in the following month, and is available as a PDF for your records.

3. Complete your profile

Create a compelling profile that highlights your skills and experience. The more information customers have about you and your professional capabilities, the better.

A good rule of thumb is to enter as many matching skills as you can, so you don't miss out on any jobs. Our AI-driven technology will then match you with jobs that line up with those skills. The more skills you have, the higher the probability that more projects and bookings will be displayed to you. 

Make sure your profile communicates a little bit of your personality, so stay away from generic statements and try and make it unique. Use the free text field to add additional relevant information about yourself. For example, what are you most proud of? What interests do you have? Do you specialize in a particular field? Have you had experience with different roles?

To individualize your profile even more, you can add an avatar,  a logo or your photo. You can also add additional relevant links, including your CV.

4. Find jobs

With WorkGenius you can find great jobs, with a few clicks. Just visit your WorkGenius account and click on the "Find job" button, located on the left side of the page. The filters are already preset according to your information and preferences, so we will only show you jobs that match your skills.
