How do I ensure that the client won't use my work in an unauthorized way?

When a client accepts the work you submitted, they acquire the rights to it.

Our terms and conditions specify that work can only be used by a client once it has been successfully completed AND the person completing the work has been paid.

If a client acts in a way that's contrary to our terms and conditions, we will take legal action on your behalf.
